Captain: Max Loubser

Captain Max Loubser

Max was born in South Africa but was raised in the Caribbean after his parents sailed across the Atlantic soon after he was born. Having grown up on a sailboat and subsequently following a career on luxury yachts, Max has been on the sea his entire life.

He made his first trip across the Atlantic as crew at the age of thirteen, and after finishing school went on to study at the maritime colleges in Europe. He worked on luxury yachts for 10 years working his way up to 1st Officer. He holds a Captain’s License for 200-ton vessels and a Chief Officer’s License for 3000-ton vessels.

In 2013, at the age of 23, he captained a sailing yacht around the world for over two years. This would cause a shift in his life and eventually the start of chartering his own sailboat, where he gets to share that same excitement and adventure with people from all around the world.

Max enjoys anything that involves being above or below the surface of the water. Kiteboarding takes the top spot, and he spends any free time discovering new places to launch the kite and hit the water. After getting certified at age 11, Max also loves getting in the water with a scuba tank. But if there isn’t one, he uses bigger fins and joins the fish freediving.

Chef/Mate Haily Celestin

Haily was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana but moved to Colorado after college and considered this, for the longest time, her home away from home. The mountains have always attracted her with their beauty and adventure around every corner. Being an avid activities lover, the mountains provided her with an endless array of sports and exploration.

Having studied to be a registered nurse but unable to settle down in one place with her urge to travel, she quickly worked to become a traveling RN, specializing in the operating room. This gave Haily the freedom to move around to different hospitals but most importantly, to discover new places. Wanting to try something completely new, Haily’s journey landed her in the Caribbean islands to pursue a slightly different lifestyle with Max.

With a background in activities like skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, scuba diving, hiking, and rock climbing, Haily added another one to her ever-growing list – sailing and sea exploring. Whether it be hiking a dormant volcano or kayaking through coral reefs, she gets to bring the same thrill and wonder to people sailing the islands of the Caribbean.

Haily’s southern hospitality radiates with her charter guests. She grew up with a big family, so every meal was an occasion to sit around the table with family and friends to savor not only the food but the company too. She first learned how to cook from her Dad’s Cajun cooking, and as she traveled, Haily was able to add different cooking techniques and recipes from the food she loved. Her favorite – Mediterranean cuisine!
