Captain: Kostas Kounelis

CAPTAIN – Kostas Kounelis



Captain Kostas was born in Karystos in 1978. He graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy and continued his studies at the University of Plymouth. He also holds a Captain Class A certificate among others. He spent several years as second officer of Merchant Ships until joining the yachting industry in 2010 as Chief Officer, staying with the same owners for 8 years. He has cruised both in Greece and the Carribean extensively. He joined DAY OFF in 2018. With a very pleasant personality, Kostas is a great manager, a flexible and adaptable character with a thorough knowledge of technical issues and a great deal of enthusiasm about his career in the charter industry . In his free time, he enjoys scuba diving, mountain biking, martial arts and fishing. He is fluent in English. 

CHIEF ENGINNER – Christos Katsoulis

Christos holds an Engineer Class B’ Diploma from the Merchant Marine Academy of Aspropyrgos. His career started off in cargo ships until deciding to move to yachting in 2015. He has worked mostly on private yachts ever since. His strong communicative skills and cooperative personality blended perfectly with DAY OFF’s team, to which he moved in 2018. He has been dealing with all engineering issues successfully also assisting with deck activities. In his free time, he plays music and enjoys sports. He speaks English well.


COOK - Panagiota Papasimeon

Giota was born in 1957 and has been working as a cook since a very early age and on-board motor-yachts for the last 20 years. She has therefore had a very long experience in kitchens of different size and shape catering guests of all ages and culinary preference. Apart from her legendary dishes, be prepared to taste fresh bread, pitas and pastries all being prepared daily, from scratch with fresh and local ingredients and plenty of love. DAY OFF has been her “home” since the boat’s first day and her talent is one of the boat’s most precious assets.


STEWARDESS – Rhea May Caballes

Rhea was born in 1986 in the Filipines. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Services and has been certified by PYA for the G.U.E.S.T Program in Yacht interior, Food Service, Bartending and Mixology. She has been part of the crew of DAY OFF since the boat’s first day being an indispensible part of the team. Her discreet character and polite, caring personality make guest of DAY OFF feel pampered and comfortable, always attending to their needs with a smile on her face. She speaks English and Greek.


DECKHAND - Eddie Paguio

Eddie was born in 1961 in the Philippines. He has been working in deckhand and steward positions of motor-yachts since moving to Greece, 25 years ago and on-board DAY OFF since her first day. With a very positive and service-oriented attitude, he has a keen eye for detail, keeping all aspects of the boat in perfect shape. Guests remember him for his discreet and meticulous character and big smile!
